GEARING UP FOR ELECTIONS 2025!
Advocating for justice and equality with all levels of government on key domestic and international issues.
We are approaching the most important federal election of the decade.
Hate and Islamophobia is rising. Attacks against Muslims have increased.
Bill 21 in Quebec threatens all Canadians’ civil liberties. Hate is becoming normalized.
- We have to act as a community.
- We have to stand together.
- We have to get involved. Now.
This election 2025 portal is the central hub for being active this election.
It is designed for you: community members who want to make sure that we make a difference come April 28th.
We can make a major difference if we act collectively as a community.
No matter where you are, or what your capacity is, don’t sit this one out.
Make a difference. Act now.

Where to vote

Joint Letter on Principle
As Canada approaches another pivotal election, we, the undersigned members of the Muslim community, come together in unity to reaffirm our collective responsibility: to vote with a conscience grounded in justice, human dignity, and a commitment to the betterment of society for all. Our community has a rich history of collaborating despite our diverse backgrounds, regional differences, and varying perspectives. We are determined to build on this legacy by working hand in hand, from coast to coast, for the greater good of our community and country.

Questions to ask politicians
As engaged members of our communities, it's vital that we ask the right questions to those seeking our vote. At NCCM, we’ve developed a set of key questions you can raise with political candidates—whether at the door, at a debate, or on social media.
These questions focus on issues that matter deeply to Canadian Muslims: protecting civil liberties, addressing Islamophobia, ensuring international human rights, and investing in safer, more inclusive communities.

Who should I vote for?
While the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse any political parties or candidates, you can visit trusted multi-partisan initiatives like the National Muslim Action Fund to explore more about your options and make an informed decision.

ANY QUESTIONS?
We work with the government to challenge discriminatory laws, strengthen protections, and stop Islamophobia. Our FAQ answers common questions about our advocacy, your rights, and how we are fighting. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, reach out—we’re always here to help.
Can my voice really make a difference?
Absolutely! Decision-makers pay attention when communities mobilize and speak up. Our advocacy has led to policy changes, funding commitments, and stronger protections for civil rights. Whether it’s through petitions, meetings with MPs, or public campaigns, your voice—when combined with others—has real power to create change.
Are NCCM’s government relations staff lobbyists?
Yes, our government relations team engages in lobbying, but we do much more than that. We advocate for policies that uphold justice and equity, build coalitions, and empower communities to directly engage with policymakers. Our approach combines grassroots mobilization with direct government engagement to push for meaningful change.
Does NCCM focus on short-term or long-term change?
Both. Some issues—like responding to hate crimes or urgent policy threats—require immediate action. At the same time, we work toward long-term systemic change, ensuring that our advocacy today lays the foundation for a more just and inclusive Canada in the future.
How does NCCM decide which issues to work on?
We focus on issues that impact civil rights, religious freedoms, and social justice in Canada. Our priorities are shaped by community concerns, legal expertise, and strategic opportunities to make a difference.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to support our advocacy work! You can sign petitions, attend lobby days, meet with your elected officials, or donate to help sustain our efforts. Get in touch with us to learn more about how you can take action.
If you have more questions, reach out to our team—we’re here to help!
